Three months later the #Geldingadalir 2021 eruption, #Iceland behaved completely different. The lava effusion is now not driven from gas accumulation in a shallow reservoir beneath an open vent but the vent is closed between effusion periods. This is how the Geldingadalir 2021 eruption, #Iceland sounded like when a partial roof of Vent 5 collapsed. The seismic #eruption tremor then transitioned from episodic to continuous tremor. More information about our interpretation of the episodic tremor is here: link.springer.com/article/10.1...
