FWIW, that would've gotten me to go see Mulholland Drive when I was 19!

(I did see it, knowing absolutely nothing about David Lynch, because friends were going and it was $2 at the student center movie theater.)

-Does anyone see the problem.

-Anyone.

-So now... I have an appointment I KNOW I cannot make, b/c that's how to be on the wait list for a quicker appointment I *probably* won't be able to make.

-Instead of just letting me have an appointment date that I know I can make.

-I am supposed to get healthcare while autistic this way.

-Can I just have the first available appointment in January? That way I'll know I can actually make it?

-No.

-Trust us, you'll get in sooner this way.

-First avail. appt. they have is Dec. 24, which I can't do b/c I'll be out of town. Receptionist says "oh, don't worry, we have cancellations all the time, you'll get in before that."

-Okay, but my work schedule is erratic. I probably can't take something you call me last minute for...

-I ask for a new referral

-And while they're at it, could they make sure it's to someone who takes my insurance this time, too

-New place looks at my records and says they'll take me

-THEY call me to make an appointment (THAT was new and exciting!)

...

I've dyed my hair before. I liked it, and I'll probably do it again sometime!

But there's an expense and an element of physical coordination to doing it in the first place, let alone upkeep, that if people can't see why those things might be prohibitive for an autistic person... idek.

In NY we show ID when we register. Then we get a little tag like a library card that gets scanned when we sign in to vote, and have our signature matched to a record.

I'm super curious about where you are that just has no requirements of ID whatsoever to vote.

Truly my favorite part was being told that Neighbor Guy wasn't using a shower curtain when there were literal gallons of water per minute pouring through our lighting fixture.

Not as much as you'd think but yeah, they did also have to do some mold abatement.
