The three convicted farmers were ordered to were ordered to pay the workers a total of €44,000 in compensation, but their family-run farm received €41,000 in CAP subsidies that same year. Since their initial arrest, they have been paid €283,000 in EU funds.

80 years ago today Mauthausen concentration camp was liberated by Allied forces. They were welcomed by Spanish Republicans prisoners' famous banner. Nearly 4,500 exiled socialists, communists and anarchists died in the Nazi camp.

A great proposal but unfortunately it is only that. Hardly even a remote chance it'll become law. Junts has made it clear it won't vote for it & most likely will never reach a vote in the Congreso as Gov knows it doesn't have the numbers.

So what is Sumar's plan after 18 months of parl. deadlock?

Great analysis from @alejandrosrguez.bsky.social on latest CIS polling in Spain.

Particularly revealing on collapse in support for Yolanda Díaz's leadership of the left. From being the preferred choice of 2/3s of Sumar's voters for prime minister in 2023, that figure is now at just 23%.
