Funnily enough, even people in the replies are doing the whole "it's not just nostalgia" thing, completely ignoring the fact that what is now considered "AAA industry" has *always* been like that.

only time this has worked was with snake eater and i guess sonic heroes (even if those otherwise dont mention game mechanics, minus i guess the "someday you go through the rain, someday you feed on a tree frog" bit from snake eater)
