Hello from Wise Women historical 1950s #larp about the lives of women (all characters female; players of any gender) in the blackhouses on the Isle of Lewis (with a touch of the occult). I am the secondary game runner due to chronic illness but the historical research has been wonderful, as has

This is absolutely fucking reprehensible.

I don’t know if this applies outside the US, but if you’re connected to any nonprofit org, or any group that could be *considered* a nonprofit org, I’m going to suggest checking this out, because this is horrific.

The big thing to remember about this, and what all of us must keep reiterating when we talk about it, is that the justifications about “efficiency savings” for privatisation were simply blatant lies.

A little #sketchbook drawing of a flowering cactus with alcohol markers, roughly following a tutorial by www.instagram.com/darkestnight.... Really nice to have a guide to shading with alcohol markers as I’ve found it a bit counterintuitive and I’m keen to use them as bedart-friendly #chronicallyill

Because I posted a pic of me looking nice and upright and functional, here’s the counter-pic that’s much more reflective of my actual day-to-day reality - me lying in bed recovering with my gel ice pack and my hot water bottle feeling like hammered shite #disabled #chronicallyill

There was a sale on monitors at Visible and that and the really bad week I’ve had healthwise after trying to push a bit to give my OH a nice birthday week off pushed me to spend a chunk of my PIP on it.

It’s expensive but not ridiculous. It’s what PIP is actually meant to be for.

Made it out to GOMA today as my OH is off on annual leave for the week.

Health is fairly crap atm; had a pretty nasty syncope episode so we had to go to the cafe to sit down. But two things that really helped

Happy Disabled Pride Month folks!

I actually found some energy to do some face paint art celebrating this today.

It’s a variation on the Disabled Pride Flag. The colours represent:

Guess who has two thumbs and a proper, official autism diagnosis?

This person ❤️

It was a very, very thorough diagnostic process; two *long* appointments plus all the pre-assessment paperwork.

A couple of old pics of me doing a low-key Snow White cosplay out in Mugdock Park with our much-missed Staffie pup Jasmine came up in my memories

Because I posted a nice pic of me looking cool out and about from Sunday, I’m also posting the aftermath, and the far, far more common state of my life; me propped up on pillows in my bed with an ice pack and a hot water bottle on different body parts to deal with the pain.

This is a thing I do

everyone was actually lovely. Even the only piece of open disableism was two people giving me the stink-eye for using my rollator on the tram.

Very cool whale shark sculpture from the mall where the event was held made of discarded electronics.

Will be dead today but it was nice to go out.

A rare photo of me out and about from the tram interchange bathroom in Edinburgh. Made it out to an event at one of my OH’s clients yesterday with them yesterday. Was braced for potential of increased transphobia as I was very visibly wearing my they/them pronoun badge in the flag colours but

Oooh my signed copy of the fantastic @piperstrangeart.bsky.social’s My Gender is Rats has arrived and been devoured (figuratively. I am not a rat. I do not chew books 👀)

It means a surprising amount, in a time when we are so under siege (and have yet again been legally erased) by the govt to have

Please keep signing, sharing and amplifying the petition appealing to protect disabled people the DWP’s own systems have judged as unfit for work from the cuts.

This is in direct contravention of @teamlabouruk.bsky.social’s manifesto promises to end the 17+ year Tory democide of disabled ppl via the DWP and Austerity policies that cost more to persecute disabled people than it would have to give all of us a decent standard of living. Instead, a party

I’ve noticed it a *lot* online, and on the occasions I’ve made it out since this has been announced. It’s difficult for me to go out alone anyway but I’d be increasingly worried to atm.

Increased public hostility not only increases our marginalisation but actively makes it more difficult for us

PIP is not an income replacement benefit. It is a benefit to allow disabled people to meet some of the additional costs of being disabled in an inaccessible environment. It is *particularly* essential to enabling many disabled ppl to work because workplaces are frequently incredibly inaccessible
