Absolutely! Didn't mean to imply they were the same--just related enough to get some productive gears churning.

(Have been thinking a lot about your book this past week, after attending a terrific related talk on Fried and theatricality.)

I knew one day we'd get a pope who dislikes Immersive Van Gogh.™️

Aha, makes sense. I don't have those posthumous pages.

1130 pp. total, from Picador Classic. I wonder if they made different choices about what to reintegrate posthumously.

(Ha! on your alt-text.)

Ah, I see. My edition has A Sort of Introduction, Pseudoreality Prevails, and Into the Millenium (The Criminals) all rolled into one, with the caveat, of course, that the whole thing remained unfinished at his death.

Are we using different definitions of "part"?

In my edition, it's on p. 704, about 20 pp. from the end of Part II, Pseudoreality Prevails.

Good luck with your trip in the meantime. We'll wave as we pass each other in stopped traffic on 90/94.

Will check in sometime, if there's a chance. There's always LA, as well, though we're usually only there part of the year.

Ah, other side of the state from us, though we occasionally drive to Cleveland for the art museum. We do regularly make it to Chicago too, though, should a future lunch or cup of coffee ever sound appealing!
November 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Oddly enough, I am making the exact opposite trip this morning, otherwise I'd ask you exactly where!

A true collaboration!
