Rob was initially added to Station Alder's crew as a joke by a cynical assignment officer who "thought it would be funny" to put a small male yinglet in with two larger, previously problematic females. However, after three exceeded expectations during training, the decision was left unchanged.

I also didn't write in a companion character for him, in the form of a female warrior-type outcast who is twice his size and unabashedly obsessed with him, with whom he shares an awkward relationship of sorts. While she often and openly flirts with him, he acts indifferent but does care for her. <<

I've heard a cat's purr can stimulate healing... I wonder if that would make digestion an even slower process for live prey...making their stay a long, drawn out one...
