It seems like the best we can do is be more diligent with vetting profiles, maybe confirming that they're reaching out to us with any sort of knowledge of our sites/services vs generic outreach? :( It sucks that this is something than can even happen, but at least now we can be a little more careful

Yeah, I agree. The good thing is that you will be getting a ton of use out of it! I know some people have made work-around alternatives, but I’ve never tested them to compare how good that they are.

Interesting. This is probably a question I should already know the answer to, but does your credit get a hard evaluation whenever you apply for a card? I scanned over the ones Credit Karma suggested but wasn't sure if there were any companies less mainstream with better benefits.
