As for more modern literature, Jerry Cornelius who predates JKR by several decades was iirc pretty gender flexible.

This isn’t really a recommendation of Frank Miller’s work, generally, btw. If you’re unfamiliar with it and have become curious, I suggest starting and ending your exploration of it with the original Sin City.

But the central idea: the powerful abusing and consuming the powerless? Who would have thought, when first reading this comic, that its main deviation from reality was that it *understated* the scale and depravity of the powerful?

My dad, a multi-instrumentalist folk music enthusiast, went to a festival in Ireland. He was fascinated by the bodhran and bought one to take home.
DK is by no means arid or dry, but it was sufficiently less humid that the skin on it tightened so much, the tone shifted significantly.

A trick to making a table that has only two columns and where the 1st column is a number that starts at 1 and increments by 1 in each row is to make an ordered list. In InDesign, Word or pretty much in anything. Probably Affinity too.

I bought the big Maggie & Hopey stories book and it's absolutely astonishing. 600+ pages of comics where virtually every single panel would look great if you blew it up and framed it.
