yeah, I have backup options (including a spare AM4 CPU!) but it would be a downgrade if that was the way I had to go

incidentally the game I'm starting with would run nicely even on a Steam Deck, and there's a sicko part of me that would love to incorporate it into my setup just for the novelty factor

hoping above all that this isn't the rare *actual* CPU failure. my processor is a 5600X3D; replacing it with anything comparable would not be cheap

I dunno, my Samsung monitor is a QD-OLED and I find it very easy on the eyes. But I also wear glasses exclusively for myopia/near-sightedness, if that's any useful context.

I have high standards

I would strongly recommend using an electric air duster if you can, definitely. The cans of compressed air people often use rarely suffice for this scale of debris.

For the PC, if possible, definitely open it, disassemble and dust each component if you can, then reassemble
