Be that power plants, esports teams or individuals.
Got to see the every amazing @hacks4pancakes.com at Cybercon after drinks at B-Sides a few weeks ago, and still always a pleasure to be in the presence of a superbly competent individual who can communicate amazingly.

Shout out to the renewable energy aligned, cybersecurity peeps who also enjoy video games.

B-sides Canberra, into PAX, into Cybercon Melbourne, into All Energy, into Cisco Live is one hell of a calendar commitment......................................................................................

Saw the Demon Slayer Infinite Castle movie.

Stunning animation. Frustrating for being part 1. Very satisfying for the part of the arc we did watch. Two years until the next sucks.

Interesting villain arc

Will make no sense unless you watch the anime and the other movie.

For the fans 8/10.

Polite query to movie taste setter (for me at least) @bobchipman.bsky.social for a mini review on “Primitive War”.

It’s in the local cinema now, and seems like the movie that may be something Bob would make a “This movie Exists” reference to in ten years, and trying to work out if I invest 2hrs.

So this the last day of 2 weeks f actual break and rest. Even down to disabling the phone so I couldn’t see anything work related.

It was amazing. Great mental break.

The only problem is the channels I keep open to be able to help people were also closed. I skim the torrent of social shit …

I didn’t write a review of Kpop Demon Hunters when I watched. So one in arrears.

I enjoyed it. It was fun. 6.5/10.

I will never forgive them for screwing up the ending so horribly. Literally betraying and discarding their own themes and plot setup.

Dissolving Demon Boyfriend was a film crime.

Saw the new Superman. Fun as hell. Absolutely what a comic book movie should be.

Funny, comical, poignant, emotive, inspirational.

Solid story based on believable character motivations.

James Gunn good at the movie thing… who da thunk it.

9/10

28 Years later was good, emotional, moving, impactful.

The penultimate scenes were not what I expected, but pretty amazing.

The last 5 minutes was

W
T
F

8/10 solid recommend if you are into zombie or enjoyed the first two.

1. Industry conferences are cool. But people always matter more than data.

2. Data is useful. But know the data from others can come in skewed.

3. Explore the afterparties & adjacent events to a conference, solid value there.

4. Do NOT try to match a Latino in California, Tequila shot for shot.

Privileged to get a selfie with the totally real, ( but 2D ), @patrick.risky.biz at #RSAC Decibel meetup.

Seriously I’ll vote 1 for “People who don’t send me junk mail”

The Electric State (on Netflix)

That was a fun movie exploring interesting ideas. Fun adventure, emotional impact, great actors, banging 90’s soundtrack.

Actual best movie in a long time. Russo Brothers still masters of the craft. 9.5/10

(Wonderwall instrumental was 👌)

If you have AppleTV go have a look at “The Gorge”.

Solid adventure flick, with sci-fi/eldritch elements, great actors, neat ending.

A lot of fun. 8/10 movie.

Not sure what happens with AppleTV and movies. There’s good shit on there but does it have enough audience?

Lovely night ramble through Stockholm.

No idea where we went. Some haunted looking forest, weird temple, a military school??

I think we surprised some people with a random Aussie-ness in unexpected locations.

So I did fall asleep as late as I could make it, which was 8pm local time…

Now I am here wide awake at 3am.

Come on body, just transplant across 11 timezones without leaving me staring into the cold in the wee hours of a Nordic morning please…

Coffee #4 at the hotel bar …. It’s not great.

Actually if it had of been it would have been sus. 4/10 beans need to be chucked tbh.

I’m owe you an apology Stockholm, I was not familiar with your game…

Dear lord the pastry stores are massed here… How are all Swedes not absolutely rotund.

And the coffee has been excellent!

Second coffee within the hour?

Today is liminal and there are no rules.

Cafe Pascal in Stockholm and a batch brew of an Ethiopian roast.

9/10 I am a happy Melburnian in Sweden.

First Swedish coffee. Absolutely stellar initial effort.

Also my utter existential travel induced exhaustion could be in play here.

8/10 would drink again. Didn’t know what a magic was but made a lovely flat white.

(Naith’s cappuccino was missing a load of foam though)

Had the privilege of visiting Malmo a few years back but never made it deeper into Sweden.

So very keen to see some Stockholm, and potentially day trip out to …somewhere?

The original esports trip was the OG LGC CS squad to Jonkoping in …2016?

Sweden has always been an esports destination for me.

Hour 13. I just watched Alien Romulus (good old school alien vibes) and Fall Guy (that was actually a lot of fun)

I can only assume my life will always be this way.

Stuck in a noisy occasionally turbulent tube watching movies and not falling asleep.
7hrs into an infinitely long flight.

There is no world.

There is no outside.

Only me, and 300 passengers I must defeat in a mixture of hand to hand combat, chess and Civ6 multiplayer.

Brain abandoned me long ago, logic is forsaken, there is only, “not look at watch” and “scroll plane movie list”

The vibes here have somehow still remained so much better, but still a lot of my esports friends are back at the bird site.

But anyway, Esports to the all of you anyway.

Off to Stockholm on a very long flight to support the CS team who have qual’d to ESL Pro League.

Not huge one to listen to reviews but at AUD$160 for Civ7 to play it on the weekend I had, I deferred.

Now I stare at the steam page where I can get it the discounted price of ... AUD$120, and now I'm reading the mixed reviews and the not quite done-ness of comments means I still don't own Civ7.

If I say its going to break, and you should not do that, and then it breaks, its really not my fault Mr. Client...
