This book has me weeping. I needed it so badly—its humor, wisdom, patience, and above all, its extraordinary grace.

Someone is regularly bringing their dog to my front lawn, letting it poop there, and then leaving said poop. Other than keeping 24/7 vigil over my lawn and then jumping out when the perp emerges, anyone have ideas on how to prevent this? So many flies! So much stink!

“Workplace novel” doesn’t do this book justice. It’s an entire ecosystem, depicted with infinite nuance and care. It encapsulates the brutality of late-stage capitalism. It’s funny and humane and the stakes feel incredibly high yet perfectly relatable. Can’t wait to read on.

When life gives you a 12-hr flight delay, make lemonade (or a strawberry mojito) and write the next damn novel.

Did a Trump administration official ask AI to generate this memo in the style of 1984? Cause...yeah.

You know when you read a novel so captivating, so funny and full of heart, full of insights into contemporary life, featuring a truly unforgettable protagonist, and you just have to shout about it to everyone in sight? Yeah, that’s this book.

Got lunch with my agent yesterday (I can’t believe I get to say that!) Not only is @frecklywench.bsky.social just as delightful in person, but she also sent me off with the ARC of this fantastic-looking—and highly relevant—book.

Kicking the fall off correctly with my favorite adulting hack: homemade chicken stock. I’ll freeze it in one- and two-cup containers and have it on hand for months, like liquid gold for my recipes.

Finished this yesterday, and what fun I had reading it. A depiction of a happily married couple—still deeply in love after 40 years, even with ups and downs—feels kind of groundbreaking?! And the many “unlikeable” women burrowed into my heart ❤️
