@robertsuits.bsky.social and I are at St Pancras bright and early today on our way to @wceh2024!! Why so early, you ask? Because we decided to go by TRAIN! Over the next three days, we’ll be on sleeper trains, regional trains, and even a ferry or two as we head to Oulu. Wish us luck!

Back in the UK after a whirlwind tour of the US attending my favorite conference, seeing an eclipse, saying a final goodbye to one of our most loved and admired people, and then hiking for a couple of days. Now…to jump right back in! 😂😂😭

It’s hard to convey how wonderful and energizing it is to get to spend weekends visiting places I’ve been reading about for years, that form the basis of how I understand the UK, industrialization, and environmental change - this weekend, it was Sunderland.
