Most painful thing ever in more than twenty seasons. I didn't shower after the game, got a lift home and got into bed at 6pm covered in mud hoping that sleep would help, which it didn't. Scratched cornea and astigmatism was the result.

Absolutely agree, having had one of my eyes permanently damaged in the same way in 1997, and now a glasses wearer as a result, there is absolutely no excuse for it at all. Honestly, it should end his career.

I don’t think they’d want him. And rightly so. Unfortunately he went from being a principled backbencher and man of conscience to believing his own hype as a ‘leader’. Which he never was and never will be.
