As a kid on the farm, Mom made party mix in a giant roasting pan, let it cool, and then froze it in repurposed Schwann’s ice cream tubs so it would keep through the holidays.
As an adult, I also freeze the party mix that I make only because I’m conditioned to prefer my party mix ice cold.

Went to the Iowa State vs. West Virginia game last fall and enjoyed Morgantown and the fans so much we returned this weekend just to cheer on WVU.

I grabbed the wrong large hardbound book from the shelf the other night, and the kids almost got to learn about the Battle of Hurtgen Forest instead of the Quidditch World Cup.

There are times when my commute to work absolutely does not suck.
The upside of getting furloughed for six weeks is that it provided me the opportunity to expand my reach as an EMS provider both jurisdictionally into Virginia and DC as well as clinically into the field of operational and event medicine. Time well spent.

My kids’ elementary school hosted furloughed parents for lunch today, and I got to eat with them both.

My good friend’s teenage son took the selfie I snapped on a weekend Buc-ee’s trip and made this. Perhaps the greatest AI image ever. I asked my family to use this as my obituary picture many years from now.
