If youre planning on playing them all, i would just start with 3 and work up. Otherwise, i would go with 5 Royal and experience a gem of a game and after just decide from there.

Yeah its my 4th favourite game of all time, and the mechanics are similar but not exactly the same. 5 Royal is obviously the more recent one so it just feels more polished and modern.

Persona 4 is also getting a remake at some point but depends if you would want to wait that long

Persona 5 Royal is a top 5 game of all time for me so i would just start there. The only downside is its harder to go from 5 to the others but they are all great. Each one is independent so story wise it doesnt matter.

This is why I never play games like this! But this one looks too good to not try
