I would like to read these low-stakes cozy lesbian books. What do you recommend?

Double homicide. Reiner and his wife. :(

Just had to look up Kamprs, and I did not need another huge breed to fall in love with. But now here we are, and they have noble, precious faces, and brb: I need to lay some groundwork by acquiring a pasture and a flock.

I think rescued LGDs are much more likely to be a good fit for a cat-having household than a herding dog would be.

Assuming the individual conforms to the breed (“ah, smaller animals—I Shall Watch Over Them”), it’s more a matter of the cats acclimating to a large, loud, attentive stranger.

Absolutely.

And Astra loves cats. What I was thinking of is the split experiences she’s had—everything from neighborhood outdoor/stray cats intentionally going on walks with us for her sake, to a few housemates’ cats who didn’t understand why she wanted to follow them around and stay close.

They can be good family dogs, too—but they need a LOT of outside time, natural or induced cool air, grooming…and also, lacking goats, will make guarding you and the other household members their job.

And you in particular have multiple cats. Cats, uh…do not always appreciate being substitute goats.

My Pyr is such a good dog. Even w/ the challenges that come with the breed (they’re SO loud), she’s been the best part of my life for over a decade.

I hope one day, when Astra’s no longer with me, to be able to help abandoned and rescued Pyrs—they’re amazing, and deserve understanding love.
December 14, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Yeah, and part of it is some people not taking the time to learn about Pyrs. Understanding their needs and characteristics means it’s easier to know in advance if you either have the right sort of life to care for them—or are able and willing to adapt your life to meet their needs.

I know the pain of not being able to. I’m really happy for you!

So even though I think lesbians have the prettiest flag, I don’t feel I can claim it as my own.
December 14, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Yeah. I vastly prefer women and femme-leaning folks—but just as experience* has taught me I prefer not to be romantically involved with men, it’s also shown me I’ve occasionally been capable of loving (and even being attracted to) a few of them.

I first experienced some of their stuff as audio only, and it definitely felt more grating than funny, minus the full absurd spectacle.

I wanted to make sure you weren’t having a sub-optimal initial exposure.

It is best appreciated via their videos.

I had a friend who’d learned that trick in the Marines.

It’s a fun one.

I really wish I’d been in a more central part of FL this weekend!

Happy to know it went so well. :)

And if they need a more active hobby, there’s hiking, dance classes, things like that.

Or starting a cover band.

That’s the one I was thinking of! It looks great. :)

Are you aware of the knitting pattern for it?
If not, I’ll go dig it up for you. (I’m a crocheter, but realizing knit colorwork could yield ✨unicorn✨ has me considering a new & intimidating craft.)

Millenial here, and I had no idea people used it to mean two words rather than three.
Each letter signifies a word, with “fucking” sandwiched meaningfully between “of” and “course.”

Oh no! Morty, why?
