Another highlight of this month's Explorateur are all of the other blog-related projects. It's old news at this point, but Elmcat made an interactive map of the blogosphere.

It's interesting because it's a map defined by connections—not necessarily audience.

The big news this month is a teaser for The Bloggies 2026. Don't worry, you've got plenty of time. Submissions don't open until the New Year. Until then, write, bookmark, and count the days.

There's a new neighborhood view: when it's enabled, the selected node will only show its direct neighbors in the graph (nodes that have a direct link to it)

Also snuck in two small features:

You can now filter links to only show stronger link weights. That helps declutter the graph a bit, and it works great together with performance mode

Lastly, I'm committed to continuously improving the dataset itself: adding more blogs and posts, tracking down false positives, and working on a feasible solution to backfill posts from the remaining platforms.

I'll update the graph with new data this weekend since I realized I missed a few blogs

After reading some of the responses, I'm also considering to write a clarifying post along the lines of:

"Your blog data is not what you expected and what you can do about it"

Here's a new feature I'm working on: it only shows the direct neighbors of a selected blog (i.e. blogs that have an established direct link to it)

Yea I saw the comment on the grognardia post and have added you to my reader

You should pop up when I refresh the data for the graph. I'm planning to do this weekend because I missed a few blogs!
