i could easily make it correlate to biomes lol, it would just unfortunately be incompatible with any dps that change vanilla biomes. ideally it would be cool to make ore count dependent on noise router noises, like low temp=redstone, high erosion=coal, etc. idk if that’s possible though teehee

yay if the amount of chambers are reduced!

okay soul sand isn’t terrible but TNT ??? that’s…..
like okay if there was tnt in the ancient city that’s not that bad but in the biome itself? guROSS

ughhhhh its just so dissapointing because it’s so well made EXCEPT FOR THE WEIRD BLOCKS. maybe they’ll make a second survival friendly edition lol
January 12, 2025 at 2:57 PM
wait like the biomes themselves are procedurally generated? that’s so cool

hard agree. it’s especially frustrating because mountains+dark forest used to look so good, but now the pale garden kinda ruins that :/

i PERSONALLY think realistic biomes look better at low erosion, and weird biomes look better at high erosion (ex shattered savanna). i just all around hate the pale garden biome placement. why can’t we have this instead
January 11, 2025 at 8:41 PM
yeah i checked the code, literally all they did is make them generate on both sides of weirdness 😭😭😭 why can’t they make them swamp/shattered biomes or middle or badlands biomes like clifftree dawg

does it shock you when you touch the contacts? :p

i could never really get into terralith for this reason. like it ruins my immersion to see campfires under the terrain. and i love the arboria datapack but i usually use an extra datapack to remove the terrain slabs lol
January 11, 2025 at 8:06 PM
a little while back i experimented with a different pale garden biome distribution which made them generate in swampy terrain and shattered terrain and i like it so much more than on plateaus. i personally feel like low erosion is good for “realistic” biomes & high erosion is good for “weird” biomes

the only part of this that isn’t possible is the minimum block size, but aside from that it is very easy to make swamps generate next to coasts. atm, they are set to generate where erosion is high, but my test datapack just made them also generate where continentalness is low and erosion is mid-high
January 11, 2025 at 4:57 PM
thanks!!!! do you think it would be cool to have an actual swamp/mangrove swamp biome? or a separate “coastal swamp” or “coastal mangrove swamp” biome to better blend with the neighboring biomes?
January 11, 2025 at 2:55 PM
They said “takes up more Dark Forest space” instead of that they’re bigger for a reason lol
January 11, 2025 at 1:33 PM
Actually, a minor correction. Pale gardens don’t generate bigger, rather it just makes more of them. Instead of generating as plateaus/near mountain biomes when weirdness is positive, they now generate as plateaus/near mountain biomes regardless of weirdness.

the only difference is in the deluge the LA fires happen in the 2030s, not 2025 🥴

the book is about a gradual slide into dystopia through climate catastrophes and imagining a future in which cataclysmic weather events occur. but like they’re occurring wildly ahead of schedule
