Congrats, Jorjethe and Yi-Lan! 👏👏
Our new paper is out in PNAS! We show that competition for binding to the Hfq matchmaker disfavors mismatched sRNA-mRNA combinations while allowing matched sRNA-mRNAs to form stable pairs. Kudos to Jorjethe Roca and Yi-Lan Chen for their fantastic work on this problem! doi.org/10.1073/pnas...

📢 Paper with @sattler-lab.bsky.social now published in @narjournal.bsky.social ! doi.org/10.1093/nar/... We combine #NMR, #SAXS, and #MD to construct conformational ensembles, showing that A-to-I hyper-editing leads to significant structural dynamics. MD simulations by @piompons.bsky.social
Unique conformational dynamics and protein recognition of A-to-I hyper-edited dsRNA
Abstract. Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) editing is a highly abundant modification of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and plays an important role in posttranscr

Congratulations to Wilson on your NAR #Breakthrough paper!
New #Breakthrough article from @Woodsonlab.bsky.social shows how the E.coli RNA DEAD-box helicase unfolds unstable RNAs to fuel ribosomal RNA remodeling and the search for the native, protein binding structure! #Ribosome #RNA #Helicase 👉 Full article: https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/gkaf104

An intro, since I’m new to Bluesky: I’m a #biophysics PhD candidate in Dr. Sarah Woodson’s #RNA lab at @johnshopkins.bsky.social! I’m combining MD w/ NMR + confocal smFRET + TIRF to study the dynamics underlying Hfq-RNA complexes. (I also study ribozyme folding on the side!) Excited to connect 😊🧬
