Our new paper on Amazon river dolphins is out! 🐬🌴
We used satellite telemetry and isotopic analysis to reveal what they eat in different areas of the Peruvian Amazon, a key step towards better understanding their ecology and supporting their conservation.
🦤🌐🧪 Amazon River dolphins are elusive 🐬, but isotopes + satellite tracking reveal variation in their feeding behavior. Using δ15N-AA, this study sets a new baseline for their trophic ecology and highlights them as flexible top predators in the Amazon Basin. bit.ly/esr_58_303

Fascinating new paper out in @nature.com on the importance of Small Scale Fisheries. Lots of great information on catch, nutrition, livelihoods, etc. The #sharkscience factoid I found was that only 0.2% of the SSF catch is sharks, rays or chimaerans.
