It’s a three day work week for me!!I am so ready for this long weekend. I need a nap. I need some wilderness. I need to lay in the sun and stare at a blade of grass for way too long. 🫠

Had the most beautiful message today. A woman sent me a message: “I was wondering if you’re the wonderful lady we met camping that did the drawing for our kids.”

This camping trip was three years ago - and I don’t know how she found me.. but she sent me a photo of my sketches and told me..(cont)

I’m not a big landscape person - I love seeing other peoples landscapes but I struggle to make and practice my own.

I’d really like that to change. So a goal of mine this year is to really lean into the landscape study and playing with color fields.

Listening to the audio book of The Hunger Games (I know I’m late) and I am thoroughly impressed with how shot-for-shot the movie/book is! Except (this might be controversial) the movie wins by expanding upon the book to show behind the scenes, beyond the arena… and that’s really cool. 🤯 #kidlit #ya

I love a good power outage. They make everything feel magical and mysterious. When I was little and lived out in the sticks we would get them a lot. I had my own little walking candle and a box of matches next to my bed. The wind would howl, the rain would fall, and me and that candle would dance.

I can’t share too much ✨ - but the current book I’m illustrating is such a fun project to work on! I’m currently exploring the main character and I’ve just so fallen in love with her and her cat! Can’t wait to be able to share more when I am able to.
