First off, that poster for inseminoid is wild.
Three of these movies were just OK-to-fine, but I really enjoyed devil doll(the one from the 60s). If you have a phobia of dolls/mannequins you maybe shouldn't watch. Mini reviews of all in alt text.

Inseminoid, 2/5. Notably produced by one of the Shaw Brothers, of martial arts movie fame. This movie had no martial arts though. I really liked the synth background track that accompanied this film, and that plus the mostly monotone opening scene set the mood well. There were some good ideas here but nothing really worked out? Honestly, you can skip this one. Humanoids from the deep, 2/5. Normal b horror movie from the 80s until a very specific scene. Don't watch this one with children, iykyk. If this movie focused on the b plot more and fleshed out the monsters I would've enjoyed this much more. I actually think it would've been better if they curbed the t & a(there was a plot reason for the t&a and it was probably the main draw when the movie released but it felt very, very shoehorned in)and upped the action. The exterminator, 2/5. This is just death wish but worse. If you like movies like that skip this and watch the exterminator 2, which is better. If you don't you can skip. The exterminations themselves were cool though. Devil doll(from the 60s, not the 30s), 3/5 but it was a 3/5 that I really liked. It was creepy, it was tense, and the mc was a legitimate creep. The one thing that brings this down was that the ending seemed rushed. Also I think most people won't be able to suspend their disbelief enough to enjoy it.

The beekeeper and the prosecutor are some of the best action movies of the last 5 years imo. I really enjoyed them.
I didn't hate sleepaway camp but I think most people today would find certain parts of the movie problematic.

Sleepaway camp: 2.5/5. I was not at all expecting the ending. The movie wasn't bad but I do think more backstory on the characters would've greatly added to this film. There are a lot of bits in this movie that dont necessarily translate well in 2025 and I tend to think some people would be offended. The prosecutor: 3/5. I didn't mind the genre blend of legal drama and action but I feel it would turn off other viewers. I found the viewpoint the titular character had(the legal system kind of sucks and we should attempt to change it) much more refreshing than the view of the legal system that western media usually tries to shove down our throats, even if the execution itself wasn't perfect. The action scenes were great. The beekeeper: 3.5/5. Kind of stupid but very fun. The concept of the movie could've lent itself- very, very easily- into a much deeper critique of acceptable morals in society, of how that influences the way we view law and order, and of how that both alters our perception of the status quo and allows the status quo to exist. It feels like someone who worked on the film had something like that in mind at some point but it completely fell by the wayside and turned the film into a vehicle for Jason Statham to dispatch people in increasingly exciting ways. Which is also fine I guess. The action scenes were great. Universal soldier: 2/5. This one was mehhhh.

The comic itself was... fine I guess...? They were transported back in time to help a former avenger fight a group of magical beings, including the giant cyclops in the middle. That's Hawkeye on the left and captain America on the right.

Species was... fine.
Predator was much better than I thought it would be.
Frankenstein was pretty good. The movie did a great job of humanizing the monster in a way I had never seen before.
Wicked... uggghh.

Species- 2 out of 5 ⭐ I thought this movie would be... sexier I guess? The production value was fine and though I liked certain elements(the basic concept and the Alien prop in the dream sequence) most of it was mediocre and there were SO MANY themes that should've been explored that weren't. Predator badlands- 4 out of 5 ⭐ I liked most of this movie. I wrote and posted a mini review a few days ago on my bsky profile if you're interested in reading. Frankenstein- 4.2 out of 5 ⭐ This movie did an amazing job of humanizing both Frankenstein and his creature, more so than any other Frankenstein movie I've seen. Some of the cinematography and shots were beautiful. At the same time I think the movie wrapped up a little too neatly. Wicked- 1.5 out of 5 ⭐imo it's just a badly written wizard of Oz fanfiction with bad music. The singers and musicians ranged from very good(Cynthia) to fine(everyone else) but the *compositions themselves* were uninspired. There was not a single iota of passion in any of these songs. The plot structure was horrible. Cynthia ervo was great tho.

For whatever reason my brain could not understand how to draw foliage. So I looked up a grass reference sheet with multiple distinct ways to portray grass and shrubs and then attempted to replicate three specific styles.
