I know this is a furry version, but I've always thought of this as 4chan anime addicts who have never been to a show desperately cramming seminal and underground music into their brains after realizing there's more to music than anime soundtracks and video game soundtracks.

Magical Project S (Pretty Sammy in Japan) is a 26 episode series in the Tenchi Muyo! universe. It is a spinoff of the Magical Girl Pretty Sammy OVA, features some familiar faces in different roles and is far better than it has any right to be. Very surprised with this one.

Turning gold into lead, it's the modern anime aesthetic. Even when it's a scene at night, the brightness is way too high... and the anatomy is a little dodgy.
