I loved this world so much - the colours, the sounds, general ambience - going home to my apartment each night in mega building H10.

I hope that the sequel expands on the density of Night City as it feels like we've barely scratched the surface.

7/8 And finally: pacing. Respect your viewers’ time. “It gets really good halfway through” should never be a mindset. The video should be engaging and “good” from the start — visually, sonically, and narratively. Take your time in the making process. It’s a marathon, not a race.

6/8 Speaking of evergreen videos — choose topics that mean something to you. I know that advice gets thrown around a lot, but it’s true. You’ll be writing & editing for hours, so would you rather spend that time working on something genuinely fulfilling, or chasing trends?

5/8 I tested a 2nd + 3rd thumbnail & the views immediately picked up. The first had no urgency, the second was confusing with a weak central image — so for the third, I used the Hellraiser font & made that the focus. The striking blood-red line also helped centre the composition.

4/8 Thumbnail A/B testing is a powerful tool. For example, with my Hellraiser bus stop video, views stagnated after just a few weeks — which is odd for an evergreen topic like that…

3/8 This brings me to the next point — I didn’t realise my bass levels were too high until someone in the comments pointed it out (thank you!). Read, listen & respond productively to criticism in the comments.

2/8 Having a good mic matters — but having good levels matters more. My first few videos had way too much bass, which I never noticed. Listen back to your video on different devices, ideally the ones most popular with your viewers:
