Speaking to a NDP supporting friend after the writ was dropped:

“How many seats are you optimistic for?”

“Ooh, using plural are we..?”

Advance polls are from Good Friday to Easter Monday. I guess this year’s Easter is going to happen on May 24 weekend.

Why is Fred DeLorey on CBC at the Liberal Party Leadership? We already have Rosie there commenting on things, who cares what a Conservative apologist has to say about the new Liberal leader.

It has been a while since I watched a segment on #PnPCBC, at a point when Lisa Raitt came on a panel, spewing a bunch of nonsense and attacking others, I had to turn it off immediately.
It always seems like she is desperate for some RWNJ group to give her a job.

The timeline that Trudeau set with the prorogue is actually entirely what Elections Canada has been preparing for.

They have been preparing for an April Federal Election for about a year now.

Elections Ontario was also hoping to be able to go after despite Ford wanting to call it before.

The one thing I can't wait for in the Leadership race is for Christy Clark to get run out of Ottawa.

"You're nervous when there's no bike lanes... at least I was" - Doug Ford. November 2017

This is a great video about Ford aka "The Premier of Toronto" and his battle on bike lanes.

Having to explain multiple times a day to my wife that the mail won't be delivered because of the strike. She knows the strike is ongoing but is so used to taking the dog out to the mailbox that she forgets there will not be any mail.

Best of luck to Canada Post during the ongoing negotiations.

Almost nothing some Canadian's love more than dunking on the Globe & Mail is watching them complain that the current government would rather go to WaPo instead of them.
Oh boy, I haven't seen a ratio like this on Bluesky in a while
Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?

Love when headlines are purposefully misleading by omission. The only thing the proposal is seeking to do is to remove fake clinics and those which lie or mislead about the services they provide of their charitable status.

Speaking from the Ontario and Federal perspective only, until the NDP grows a spine similar to the likes of Charlie Angus, Peter Julian and Bhutila Karpoche I have a hard time taking them seriously as a National party.

Most of my irl political friends support and vote NDP too as they are unionized.

The immediate response people use is to blame the Federal Government, while completely ignoring the fact that by looking at the data you can see who is at fault.

The provinces are vocally and structurally opposing any action which would help, by standing on their own twisted principals.
Canada is out of excuses. Europe slashes climate pollution while we flounder
Canadians are running out of excuses for our sky-high emissions. Not only is the EU cutting emissions as a group, but every one of its 27 member nations (except the tiny island nation of Cyprus) has a...

Like many have I decided to leave toxicity behind and remove my Twitter page. I feel that I may miss out on important disinformation that is being spread and how to combat it but I feel happier which is what matters right now.

Best to just get back to basics and have a good open space for dialogue.

Today was quite surprising, colleagues in teams I work adjacent to had their positions eliminated.

My position and job are still secure but really makes you concerned life can be thrown into disarray at any moment.

There's apparently a really big issue on bsky with a lot of people claiming the company has a bad anti-blackness problem.

I see a space where black, queer, trans, and everyone else can talk about issues, find ally's and have open discussions without being banned or kicked off the platform.
