Also, there’s a reason that even Republican congressmembers get death threats not when they go against the left, but when they defy Trump. His cult are exactly the kind of people to make death threats.

Exactly right. We need to ban all honors given to Trump, or the Klan, or the Confederacy, or the Nazis. Tear down every monument, every building, every mention of these people outside of the context of a museum that completely condemns them and presents them as evil and without any redeeming merit.

They are used to conceal embarrassing things, conduct or cover up criminal activity, and broadly the powerful silence the voices of the weak and control the narrative around things, and there is rarely any reason for them. The military is one arena where I think a limited secrecy is warranted.

NDA’s should not be enforceable contracts at all. Secrecy should not be protected by the US government.
