They do that with Daisy and Donald Duck, too, in small bursts.
But yeah, they wrote Gaston as a harmless idiot and the Beast in the most literal way possible. It’s a really subliminally dark game story in general, which is weird but fine, but the abuse apologetics are all over every Beast mission.

Dreamlight Valley is overall a fun, only mildly weird cozy game, but yeah, it’ll make you hate Beauty and the Beast, and they just keep doubling down on the apologetics.

There is a new DLC specifically for Beauty and the Beast now. This isn’t even part of that, this is mandatory main game path content.

The game KNOWS this is bull. Nearly rvery dialogue for the player has a sincere positive, sincere negative and a snarky option, except this conversation , because any right thinking human would tell him to go boil his giant creepy head.
