For a general student population it's irresponsible to focus on teaching a tool. This has been my soapbox forever: I'm not teaching how to use a particular kind of technology but how to learn how to learn, how to evaluate affordances/limitations, how to assess output. Real, reproducible life skills!

Your choice is either to assume they’re highly ethical (benefit of the doubt) or to reply “not enough information”. I suppose the only meaningful response would be if you actually caught them cheating and then entered a low score on that item.

So many hours spent writing these letters and answering the survey questions. I’d rather do a zoom call with the committee if they need answers to specific questions.

This is just devastating. 😢😢😡😡 DDRI grants have supported so many great dissertations and helped launch great careers. And at such low cost to the government, since they never provided stipends.

I haven't seen this sentiment yet but yikes! Not cool.
