I live in Italy so had no idea what this "ask for Angela meant" v interesting! - Now to make you laugh (though it is no laughing matter) here in Italy we are taught a hand gesture you should do to show you are a woman in distress. (I think it may be an international 'code'?)

Interessante, più per come descrive il modo di vivere nel 1861 che per altro. A quanto pare neanche la Alcott era molto convinta, ma lo scrisse in 10 settimane su richiesta dell'editore (e per i soldi).
