Not gonna make it. Movies and old anime on occasion. He/Him
The non-sexual Pietà panel may have broken Dixon. This was never a high-brow work, but it feels kind of aggressively dumb now. Dinah is dating Ra's al Ghul. I'm thinking of skipping to the parts written by Simone.

When I started reading this globetrotting spy thriller comic book from the early 2000s, I admit I did not expect a storyline about heroic blonde white guys fighting savage Native American hordes.

Oh so the pathetic lovelorn loser characterization of Bane in the Harley Quinn show is canon.

There's also no real narrative consequences to Babs' identity being secret. All the stories would have happened basically the same if Dinah knew. The power play is just a fun game until they finally meet IRL in a dramatic and intimate scene. That's a romance plot.

Babs isn't controlling in an unhealthy way, though. Dinah always has the power to ignore Barbara or take off her transmitter, like she does a few times. Rather, the asymmetry becomes playful? Fairly early on, Dinah gains enough clues to figure out her identity, but she never bothers.

Babs knows everything about Dinah, while she doesn't even know Babs' real name. Their partnership starts with Babs acting controlling, buying Dinah new sexy clothes and redesigning her uniform without asking, and continues to send Dinah all over the world with little input from her.

Seeing the non-sexual Pietà panel in context feels like meeting a celebrity.

This is all stuff that happens in Chuck Dixon's early issues of Birds of Prey. The early semi-adversarial Barbara/Dinah dynamic is a lot of fun and Babs is a bit of a weirdo. There's the occasional team-up with mostly other woman heroes, but it's still a duo book.

"Joker is given diplomatic immunity by a Middle Eastern country and makes a threatening speech at the UN" is a pretty specific plot to run twice.

Barbara Gordon hacks a US orbital weapon and shoots it at a foreign country twice, triggering a brief war.

Towards the end they introduce a female character with an actual character arc not revolving around romance or motherhood and you can tell they're so proud of themselves.

Yeah, excluding Swedish-speakers from the nation would mean giving up the Moomins to the Swedes, which is unthinkable.

From what I've talked with European service workers from big tourist cities, they tend to think you guys are alright. The Ugly American stereotype seems more alive in the US than abroad.

Doesn't that criticism apply to pretty much every CRPG with romances?

Though he played Hannibal Lecter for three seasons, which is at least in the same ballpark.

His music is intentionally funny, though. Murder Ballads has two outright comedy tracks and ends on a studio sing-along of an 80s Dylan track.

She senses something about Ranko and is appalled by her tomboyishness, so she spends time with her teaching her proper feminine behavior.

Fandom likes to soften her, but she really is a hard conservative who absolutely intends to fulfill the contract if Ranma were to, say, like women's clothes.
