Finished deploying our oyster cages across Cape Breton today with my Honours student, Elise! We will be assessing MSX-driven mortality throughout the summer and looking for genetic markers of disease resistance after!

As a panelist at the Canadian Genomics Summit, Dr. Tiago Hori highlighted how climate change is threatening shellfish aquaculture in a myriad of ways. Good thing funding from @genomecanada.bsky.social is helping us develop new genomics tools to solve these challenges!
