That reminds me of the one I heard a few decades ago:

"How long were you in your last position?"

"6 months."

"And what were you doing?"

"6 months."

I have a copy of Soundings. Not the one I studied from, but my cousin's, deceased before I could get it back to her. It's now my memento of her.

Simple ad campaigns might be enought, like the one from the '80s that taught us how to overtake on a dual carraigeway: "If you had the only car in the world you could drive as you please. But you don't. And you can't." 40 years later, I can still remember the copy: it was an effective ad!

There are drivers out there who validly have a driving licence and who never took a formal lesson or passed a driving test.

Just because the campaign worked on 20 years ago, it doesn't mean the education has stuck and there's no need to do it any more.

I remember back in the Gay Byrne days of the RSA the mantra of E.E.E.: Education, Engineering, Enforcement. I don't know a lot about the Engineering, and have my doubts about the Enforcement, but I see *very* little of the Education these days.

For the sake of clarity, because everything I do is released under a CC-BY-SA licence anyway, they're actually going to get nothing (and, also, my will specifies that all my creations are to be donated to the Public Domain upon my death, though I don't actually know if that's legally valid).

I would bet all the royalties that my children are going to be paid for 70 years after they die (in part, because they don't deserve them anyway!) that she would not support reducing the term of copyright to 10 years with an option of a second 10 years upon registration of the work.

"What's your favourite date of birth?"

"What's your mom's favourite maiden name?"

Don't know how that r was capitalised.
