This right here is a man who *knows* that stories work out differently when they're romances. He's written so many love songs! He recognizes all the plot devices!

... anyway, aromantic Xi Ping means so much to me

And this is surrounding a story of two people who matter more to each other than anyone else but because it's not romantic, genre (society) says no, sorry, that's not allowed.

In the very first arc we have Jiangli utterly at a loss when Xi Ping comes to her rescue despite not being in love with her; at the end we have Wei Chengxiang literally handing Xi Ping a chance to say you matter to me, stay, but it's presented in a romantic context so he laughs it off.

It's pretty much the only example I can think of of fandom collectively deciding a character should be trans and *not* their assigned-at-canon gender (vs say deciding a male character is a trans man, which I feel like is much more common).

Whereas with this, the threads change direction in the middle of the rods, so turning them one way will tighten it and turning them the other way loosens it (which I think is how a professional lying press would work)

The awesome thing about the kit I used is that a lot of the diy presses I see that are made with bolts, you have to loosen it yourself right, you can tighten it with the bolts but you can't move the boards in both directions just by turning the screws.

The Dragon Masters series has some magic school aspects, with the main characters all training together! It's in the younger range but might still be suitable

Also if you have any recs for a 7yo who prefers graphic novels and really likes Dogman etc and the InvestiGators

I would happily take recs for a nine year old who loves Warriors, The Land of Stories, and Wings of Fire, and recently enjoyed the Last Fallen Star and its sequels

idk if that actually would make it any more legal, but given that I grew up in a world where using VCRs to record movies off the air was normal, I don't really give a fuck

Actually I do have a plan for binding the script of the War of the Worlds radio broadcast which isn't *technically* public domain buuuut ... it's not like I'm going to sell it ....

I was thinking of doing some of those, probably more likely stuff I have as ebooks than rebinds of printed books (because with rebinds I'm still stuck with the glued pages)

Sometimes I wish I could be more excited about making blank notebooks, but maybe if I give them as gifts

Oof yeah okay
Well, not someone I was previously familiar with so I'm just going to stay away and keep it that way

Yeah I had a double take at seeing that along with "controversial children's youtuber" I was like OH NO

(I don't want to know what the yt thing is but given that my kids do watch stuff there I should probably find out)

Binding 500k word cnovels is going to be unsustainable I have too many design ideas to only bind multi-volume works 😅
