Those damned wizards got me again. Turns out Earthbending + Airbending is really strong when you can keep sacrificing the same land to draw cards.

Ended the day with some Azul. Still really good, and nice to see the local version.

Managed to get a quick two round playtest of physical SPEEDMECH and almost defeated by the ceiling fan. I think the Rapier needs a bit of a boost.

Really impressed with how elegant the reverse scoring is and how the multiple vectors/uses of each card combine into a very neat design space in Faraway.

It’s been a while, but got a game of Patchwork in today and lost badly.

Speaking of SPEEDMECH... converted the playtest sheets to landscape and updated to modular action slots in anticipation of some physical playtesting.

Started late so we only made it through 3 rounds of 7 before we had to call it a night, but really enjoyed what I played of The Treasure Ship of Zheng He. Hisashi Hayashi does it again, plus Melaka mentioned!

Tonight’s little project: started cutting up photos out of my completed gunpla boxes to use as paper minis before I recycle the boxes.

Had a craving for burdock tempura udon, so made my way out to Miyatake Sanuki Udon even though the parking situation there is horrible.

Started a campaign proper of Regicide Legacy today and made it through 2 Missions. We played 6 runs in total and lost twice before winning each time. Wow what a good game! The additions for the campaign so far are really cool, providing new ways to work together and tailor the deck.

Did a solo run of Regicide Legacy to learn the slight updates to the procedures, and got got by the King of Clubs/Warriors. Luckily, I’ve now unlocked the ability to recruit mercenaries to help out!

Did a solo run of Harvest to get the rules down. It’s way more tight than I expected which is both good and bad. It really feels like you gotta figure out early from your character and the setup which routes to victory are viable, and don’t get distracted trying to do everything.

Playtested Happy Golden Days of Yore aka A Mall Together Different River tonight. Lots of good insight into what needs to be done to pull it together, mainly in how players and characters interact, but I still really love the premise. Here's part of the mall we made tonight.

Ran two encounters for Dungeon Losers today at Dice N Dine - one where the losers worked with a raccoon thief to ransack a verdant palace, and another where the losers risked being imprisoned forever to steal from a necromancer in a crumbling city.

Hahaha yeah Regicide is really good. So good I’m kinda mad. It’s a really tight and elegant puzzle that perfectly uses every part available to its fullest.

Returning to a classic in Guns and Steel. I’ve been itching to play a hand-builder again and this one’s one of my favorites. Such a knife fight this time since we got all the aggressive Wonders.

Developing and selling phones in Smartphone Inc. it’s a bit “looser” than I like, and it maybe could use one more turn or to have the early turns develop a bit faster. On the other hand it plays a lot faster and smoother than it looks so I can see it easily hitting the table again.
