I like this a lot. I think it opens the door for more non-villain antagonists. A hero who swoops in and saves the day out from under the party, taking the glory and rewards before they can get it. Lets you set up a dungeon thats not about surviving, but clearing it as fast as possible.

Honestly my current DM has gotten really good at non-combat encounters that burn resources.

Between the need to not attract attention and building urgency, it's very easy for us to get to our first fight of the day already being down a fight's worth of resources.

The timing of ads is dynamic so sometimes I can get through a whole movie without any.
