Essentially, Yes. The body is just an improvement of the SR-1 Body from 1959. The SR-2 came first, but has slightly different internals from the SR-1, and the SR-1 was basically a cheaper ver. anyway.
Then they killer it in favour of the AWFUL [but sleek] X-Body.

When you think the camera is broken but it's actually just the auto exposure working correctly.
Seriously, I thought the camera was broken, possibly dead; but it was just stopping me from shooting on too high a speed with too little light.
