Correction: Our forefathers had this nation built by the blood and sweat of enslaved people who were denied freedom.

Do any reporters ever follow up to see if he bothered to learn anything? (I'm sure he doesn't—he strikes me as a guy with an aversion to learning—although I'm also sure he knows things when he says he doesn't.)

These two together remind me of the line in Baudelaire that, if I'm translating it decently, says, "The sun has drowned in its congealing blood."

I don't know where you are, but we had similar skies last night in Detroit! Different colors (more pink & orange) but it was sunset over a city, too.
