Honestly if I'm reading a book and the protagonist makes more than three mistakes, I might consider writing a review where I make fun of the protagonist for being a bit of a dingus. But that's about it.

Speaking of wonderful names for things that have definitely been thought of a million times before by other clever people...

Well have a follow (not just for the kind, completely non-binding promise, but because I literally have a side-character called "the Bookwyrm" 😆)

My main series titles (Drednanth, Bonshoon, Fergunakil, Blaran, Molran, Damorak) are fairly unique, but the series bookends (Eejit, Human) are woefully generic. To be honest, unique isn't necessarily great either if it's not catchy-unique (and my books are not).

[1] Also, often this shit isn't just made-up random letters with apostrophes in the middle. It's carefully put together by a person who has a lot of linguistic knowledge (as you illustrated), and if someone thinks it's gibberish it may be because they're monolingual / need to broaden their palate.

It certainly bears more consideration than a glib graph, for all that they're usually fun. To me, "made-up words"[1] are an enhancer. If the book is good, they make it great. If the book is bad, they make it grate (sorry but that happened organically).

Wait, what? They're doing that? What the Hell?

And Chorn's stories are beautiful. Not for the faint of heart, but I don't think many of us are that. Strongly recommend.

I'm using a janky ol' version of PDF Xchange because even the schmancy paid version of Adobe couldn't handle page counts the size I was mashing together like a maniac. It mostly leaves you alone as long as you're fine with having a big Xchange Seal of Cheapskatery™ watermarked on your pages.

A great book with so much going on! Can't wait for the next one!

The *vast* majority of sales come through Amazon. And when readers boycott Amazon, they don't in general shift to buying indie books elsewhere. They simply stop buying indie books.

I detest Amazon, but as a self-published author, I simply cannot have a career without publishing there.
