When the bell rings at midnight, the blood, sweat, and tears of our persistence mix with our hopes and dreams for what is to come— bringing new resilience and conviction, whether we're dancing the night away or having a cozy night in with our loved ones.

Festivity is a deeply human impulse—an attempt to create meaning, connection, and escape through collective expression. Yet, a still image isolates a moment and invites a slower reading: joy interwoven with exhaustion, spectacle paired with anonymity, and vitality existing alongside vulnerability.

Our joy comes not from the presents we receive but from those who gather around our tables. The greatest gift we can give one another is our presence. However you choose to celebrate, I hope that your days are filled with love, warmth, and laughter. Happy Holidays!

Visual Riff: Sweet and Sour

The phrase "Sweet and Sour" symbolizes life's duality. Through photography, this concept transforms into a visual language of contrasts — color, texture, and emotion woven together in one frame. These pairs capture the visual and emotional polarity of its subject.

Recently, Donald Trump threatened Nigeria if its leaders did not stop the violence against Christians. Back in 2013, I documented the war there and saw the tragic aftermath of violent attacks. There is little evidence that Christians are attacked more than other religious groups in Nigeria.#nigeria
