Interactions with its companion galaxy NGC 770 (out of frame) left NGC 772's bottom arm elongated and asymmetrical.

A spiral galaxy, observed with the Hubble Space Telescope in the GEMS survey.

It is at redshift 0.24 (lookback time 2.94 billion years) with coordinates (53.20801, -27.57936).
