Lovely walk this afternoon: up Landport Bottom, looping round next to the old racecourse above Lewes & past the dew pond (Jill's Pond). Spring on its way at last!

Peach is disappointed that I've - once again - killed the fresh 'living' herbs before managing to use them in my lazy-ass cooking attempts ...

I walk up this hill most days. You can just about make out Lewes Castle. Sheep still out pre-lambing, chalk cliffs on the road out towards Firle, some flooding in the valley after the snow melt.

Cold & bright up on the South Downs today. Amazing blue sky for a Bluesky post ❄️ 🌞 🚶‍♀️. Btw, the word "downs" comes from the Old English "dun" meaning "hill".

This is also Peaches! Here she is 'helping' my daughter photograph some clothes to sell.

Mostly dry & even a bit of sun today up on the Downs now that Storm Bert (!) has passed. Getting muddy/slippery though - am I at 'that age' where I need to invest in a walking pole?
