My beloved book seller had to close her shop due to health issues. The shop was tiny and full of books I had never heard about - and I read quite a lot! And decades ago, that record store in a passage underground, I bought the records away from their record player... miss it.

May be true. But as a working hypothesis, I prefer assuming that also right conservatives may begin to understand SOMETHING if it affects them personally. And that this COULD make a starting point for thinking.

That's good. It shows, that, depending on the personal situation, also Republicans may reach a point where they understand that MAGA makes everybody suffer. It could be a point where empathy starts and positions brittle, even when the frontiers seem far too solid.

Ich habe so schallend gelacht, dass mich in der U-Bahn die Leute angestarrt haben. Jedoch war ich ein Weichei(erstock) und habe das Gedicht übersprungen. Daher weiß ich immer noch nicht, was felching ist, und das ist besser so.

The Austrian state treaty (= our independence treaty), signed 1955 after World War II between the occupying forces and the new Austrian government. Among other, it explicitly forbids fascist parties and fascists symbols.
