Update: just reached the opening of Chapter 3 last night, the introduction of Majima as the 2nd POV character (which I wasn’t expecting, even while I wondered who the eyepatch guy was on the cover with Kiryu), and it was, like, masterful storytelling and characterization. Felt like anime Deadwood

I’m like, this game is already so good and funny and genuinely compelling, and I only just finished the opening chapter of it, and you’re telling me there’s at least 6 more full games to go, not including the Like a Dragon ones?? Can they keep the quality going?? I’ll find out

I spent my play session last night just doing minigames, which over the years i’ve heard is a big part of these games but never expected to actually get into. The claw game at the sega arcade, the batting cage, the bowling alley with the lady talking about my sexy bowling form, all sooo good

I haven’t been painting or drawing nearly as much in the last couple of years, mostly due to health issues (but also, in more minor ways, because the prevalence of AI art is psychologically discouraging) but I will continue the cow’s journey someday! I’m even working on a yearning cow song!

Last we heard, the cow was traversing a dark and strange place; it is cold and frightening, yes, but the cow knows, somewhere deep inside, that, someday, they will be warm again 🔥

Eventually, the cow reached the edge of one world and stopped at the threshold to gaze into the next world 🌖

not long after, I painted the yearning cow triumphantly starting their journey across that ocean
