And incidentally, the tree to the right of the fountain is a Dawn Redwood, a so-called "living fossil" known only from late Cretaceous fossils until 1941 when found surviving in China. #urbangeology

The fountain in Priory Park, Hornsey was once in the churchyard of St. Paul's cathedral. It is made from Cornish Lamorna granite notable for the large white crystals of feldspar(?). It also has many xenoliths, this one possibly of ORS which is also found near Lamorna. #urbangeology
