I Examine economics, finance and their consequences. I support Ukraine; its struggle is the moral challenge of our time.
From 'When the cocaine kicks in' dept.

We have the worst tycoons in history.

Look who our great grandparents had. They were robber barons but they tilted toward the baronial rather than the (deranged) robber part.

Believe it when you see it.

Four years in on Putin's 'Big Beautiful Invasion' and Euros can't quit Russian LNG or crude oil.

Since 1945 Europe keeps choosing cars over actual live Europeans, maybe it's time to try something different.

Right?

Who is more strategically effective, Ukraine or US?

Meanwhile, Putin is obsessed with activating Krasnov instead of stepping away from the mess he made in Ukraine.

Krasnov, the gilded dick, useless for anything other than pilfering from the petty cash drawer.

Ukraine is proving it is able to hit more than one kind of strategic target. Russia cannot defend all of them.

Day before yesterday was bomber bases. Yesterday was oil storage and refineries. Today is electrical generation and substations. Tomorrow will be pipelines and ships in open ocean.

Get. Rid. Of. The. Goddamned. CARS.

All of them. Now.

They go or we go, it's that simple.

Ukrainian long range drones struck Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai last night. This sprawling facility has been struck repeatedly, almost every part can be easily ignited.

That's TERRIBLE news.

It's so bad I feel compelled to DONATE to one of my favorite Ukrainian Charities!

How about injecting him with formaldehyde and putting him in a bell jar.

Stick him in the Smithsonian as a warning to children.

European air forces need to be organized to allow an effective and strategic response to any Russian drone attack on European territory. Europeans' #1 advantage is ability to control the air.

Also need no-fly zone over Ukraine until that country gains the means to control its own airspace.
November 27, 2025 at 4:32 PM
European countries could also stop importing Russian LNG and other hydrocarbons and eliminate Russian imports of European goods via third parties.

European governments could also expel the thousands of Russian spies that are littering the continent, starting with so-called 'diplomats'.
November 27, 2025 at 4:21 PM
How about shooting down the next Russian combat jet that enters NATO airspace?

Turkey did just that w/ marauding Russians jets over Turkish airspace and put an end to it.

A few hundred meters away from the Vniir Progress facility is a large fuel depot.

Maybe next time:

It's impossible to know what, if any, damage was done to this facility but it has been hit previously:

Kill Russia's rail = drive the Russians out of Ukraine.

Each dot on this map represents an electric rail traction substation. No substations = no electric locomotives.

Kill diesel locomotives = no rail transport.

Kill enough diesels and the entire rail system collapses.
