There is no hope in the darkness post the bombs dropping just a slow and painful death that we will all face together, I believe a hopeful version of Threads would be an insult to the original if the filmmakers decide to go that way it will be a great disappointment.

People act as if humans are infinitely adaptable and will find ways to survive anything, this is a coping mechanism due to how truly fragile this humanity is.

The plot twist is that the story takes place over multiple timelines where no matter what he is a loser and the woman a is a being that can travel through timelines and because he is always a constant in the millions of timeline she has been to made her in love with him and his dumb manga ideas.

The fact we find it easier to "redeem" characters who are mass murderers in our heads over accepting that an incest couple could be non-toxic is a truly mad thing when you think about it.
