Good luck. I’ve tried before and even contacted developers to change.

In the end I just used www.gnu.org/software/stow/ so that at least they’re in one place.

Stop, stop! He’s already dead.

Because it has nothing to do with that

They’re a product that makes money. Like gambling the house always wins, but you can make out ahead, less often, if you’re lucky.

They obviously are? I use Bluefin and have for awhile and love it.

Better updates. And I’m talking about being atomic which is not necessarily immutable. Imagine a base with windows and it’s updates that update atomically in the background, you can still have a layer over that allowing the user and apps to make any change they want over the base layer. No issues.
January 16, 2025 at 11:43 AM
You could still have compatibility. Just depends on the design. Base layer > config layer over top with all changes the the system > app layer. Fedora may very well evolve into this, the latest bootc and composefs changes may make it so you don’t even notice. Surely a huge company could do this.

If only Microsoft prioritized making windows atomic instead of AI junk. Imagine if the update downloaded in the background and next time you rebooted it was just there. No installing. #Linux #silverblue #bluefin

… and now that I’ve read your profile and see you already know Python. I’d say C or Rust.
December 30, 2024 at 9:17 PM
I started with C as a self taught teenager back in the day. Honestly, something like Python might be more fun to start just because you can feel accomplished so fast.
December 30, 2024 at 9:12 PM
Probably Rust if you’re going to rewrite it anyway.
December 29, 2024 at 2:45 PM
Are you listening Bluesky??
December 20, 2024 at 12:17 AM
Eh it’s not that crazy of a transition in 2024. Maybe finding software if you use proprietary stuff. Hope you enjoy it. Putting windows in a vm is what I recommend if you need it for the odd thing.

Just use pandoc?

It’s simple. If you don’t support CarPlay I don’t support your car sales.

Excuse me what? I deleted Twitter when Elon first took over. Apparently, I’ve been missing some shit.

Uv, just use uv. Even manages python versions for you.

You don’t even need Python installed first. Just uv run project.
