I have fond memories of Pinderfields. I did some pastoral training there in the summer of 1979 after finishing at King's. Supposedly the longest hospital corridors in Europe!

I own a classic Land Rover Defender. I got it originally for negotiating the tracks in our small woodland, which at the time were in a dreadful state. It is very versatile. I 'morally offset' my ownership of such a vehicle through volunteering with 4x4 Response Wales: www.4x4responsewales.org

Not necessarily a pain to dry; it depends on the fabric. (I resolutely avoided ironing my choir surplices; they didn't look too bad!)

IMO they represented an inappropriate politicisation of policing, impinged negatively on strategic decision making, and were a huge waste of money.
