I bought an old wooden box at auction and it had this newspaper from December 1881 in it. Interesting reading. US immigration was on the rise. The french were being dirty colonisers in Tunisia.

Finally got into the art gallery of SA to see the Vincent Namitjira & Tarnanthi exhibitions. Both great. Loved hearing some laughter through the art gallery in the VN show. “The Royal Tour” series is particularly good.

So what came from the garden for Christmas lunch? The potatoes were dug yesterday - they’re a french variety - La Ratte. The duck also used homegrown bay leaves & garlic. The salad had home grown radishes/parsley/rocket. And the cheesecake used homegrown eggs from our chooks Nina, Ella & Billie.

Todays lunch was orange & juniper duck maryland with potatoes (Donna Hay recipe). Radicchio fennel & orange salad (Julia Busuttil Nishimira recipe) & burnt Basque cheesecake with liquorice sauce, blackberries & roast cherries ( @nigella.bsky.social recipe). Delicious combo of food.
